Frequently Asked Questions

  • What if I don’t live in one of these cities or states? We can still help! We’ve handled cases for clients across the country.
  • Why don’t I just hire a local lawyer? You can, but are your hometown attorneys experienced with the kind of case you should be filing?
  • If I was injured at sea, where do I start my case? This can be a difficult question involving many factors, including where the accident happened and the location of the company or companies responsible. The best place to start is by learning more about maritime injury law or by talking to one of our friendly attorneys at the office.
  • If I don’t live in Louisiana, do I have to come to your office? You will occasionally be required to travel to New Orleans for depositions or signing your settlement check, but for the most part, you won’t need to travel to our office for us to successfully handle your case. Those times that you do come to our office, we often pay for our clients’ travel and expenses.
  • If I live in another state, can I still hire you? Absolutely! After a free case evaluation over the phone, we would give you feedback on the strength of your case. Should you decide at that point that you want to hire us, we would then send you a contract to review and sign.
