Filing a Maritime or Jones Act Claim
00:23
Usually, personal injury victims have 3 years to file after the accident.
The Jones Act and general maritime law both require that a claim be filed within three years of the accident. It is very important that the injured seaman filed his claim within three years. We strongly encourage clients not to wait three years to do so. There is evidence that may be lost. There is medical treatment that has to be done as soon as possible after the accident and the sooner the case is handled, the sooner it can be resolved.
