Meet Our Attorneys

Timothy J. Young

Tim has been helping injured seamen and maritime workers for more than 20 years. He graduated from Tulane Law School with honors and has built a law firm that focuses on helping injured maritime workers.

Tim has lectured at attorney conferences on maritime laws and has appeared on television numerous times discussing the rights of injured offshore workers. He and his wife, Helen, have two wonderful children, George and Julia. Both he and Helen were born and raised in New Orleans, and when they’re not working they love to travel. After handling Jones Act and maritime injury claims for more than 20 years, chances are Tim has helped someone in your same situation before!

“We understand what’s at stake for you.  There are a lot of clients that we’ve helped who have gotten to a much better place, and you can do it too. It’s going to be a journey that we’ll do together.” - Tim Young, The Young Firm attorney

Tammy D. Harris

Tammy received her Juris Doctorate from Loyola University and became an attorney to help people in their time of need as well as to pursue her interests in the law. Born and raised in Louisiana, she, of course, enjoys the local culture. When not at work, Tammy and Erik are focused on raising their son Max, walking their (appropriately named) dogs Po-Boy and Nola, and enjoying all the wonderful food, culture, history, art, and — most especially — the music, that makes her proud to be a native New Orleanian.

“I love working at The Young Firm. We have a great support staff that knows how to handle the challenges of litigation and is familiar with Jones Act and General Maritime Law.” - Tammy Harris, The Young Firm attorney

Megan C. Misko

Megan has been practicing law in New Orleans since 2005. She attended Tulane University School of Law and graduated cum laude in 2005. She always knew she wanted to be an attorney, and she enjoys working with the law and her clients. Her favorite things about working with The Young Firm are the great people that she works with, the sense of teamwork at the firm, and the work that we do helping injured workers. Megan originally hails from Tyler, Texas but has been happily living in New Orleans since 2002. In those rare patches of downtime when she’s not fighting for her clients, Megan enjoys reading, running, and cooking.

“Maritime and offshore workers have such important jobs to our region and I think it’s important to help them through what is undeniably a difficult time in their lives, and get them back to normal.” - Megan Misko, The Young Firm attorney

“I am very grateful to Mr. Tim Young and his team for all they have done for my family. We would not have survived everything we went through without their professional guidance and support.

— Larry N., former The Young Firm client
