We represent the “not suing kind.”

My father was an attorney. He started representing very hard-working oil rig workers who had been badly injured. All they wanted was to go back to work. Period. When I started practicing with him 30 years ago, I immediately noticed that these clients typically began our first meeting by announcing that they “were not the suing kind”:

  • “I never thought I'd have to get a lawyer”

  • “I'm not the kind of person who sues...”

  • “I never believed in lawsuits…”

  • … And many more such statements

A lot was going on emotionally for ours clients. They felt guilty having to defend themselves against their company, a company they loved and were loyal to. They also felt helpless, once used to providing for their family and controlling their future - this had now been taken away from them.

Some of this hesitation comes from the media's framing of “trial lawyers” as all evil and “ruining this country.” (This statement upsets me greatly. Yes, they’re are far too many lawsuits and many are silly. But our legal system is still the best way to balance a serious harm that a wrongdoer causes to another.)

We know that most clients don't want to go to court or engage in a legal battle. That's why we're committed to finding the best resolution for each of our clients, whether it's through negotiation, mediation, or trial. We believe in being your advocate and providing you with the support and guidance you need to make the best decisions for yourself and your family.
